Permanent Bank International Team Pulls Together

A team of PBI staff entered the annual Peel Viking Longboat race this weekend.

Started in 1963, the World Championship Viking Long Boat Races has seen a variety of characters and teams slugging it out for a winning prize. Held in Peel Harbour, the large brown viking style boats challenge the strength and power of each team member. The large oars have to be worked together if the boat is to make a fast lap.

Originally due to take place on Saturday but cancelled due to the wind coming into the harbour, The weather finally shone on Sunday to allow all of the teams to get into the boats and race against the clock out and around a bhouy and back.
