Permanent Bank International Ltd strengthens management team.

Permanent Bank International Ltd has appointed Chris Lees as Compliance Manager. Chris has more than 30 years’ experience in the finance sector including 10 years in senior roles in compliance.

His career began with Midland Bank in the 1980s and he later worked for a Midland Bank subsidiary in Jersey. In 1989 he moved to the Isle of Man while working for Bradford & Bingley and played a key role in setting up the company’s office on the Island. Chris stayed with Bradford & Bingley which was acquired by Santander in 2008. He became part of Santander’s senior management team on the Island working as Risk and Compliance Manager, a post which he held prior to joining Permanent Bank International Ltd. Chris, who is a member of the Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals, commented:

“Joining Permanent Bank International Ltd is a great opportunity for me to play a part in a business which is ready to grow. The company has a new brand and new owners, but it is built on a long history in the Isle of Man and I’m looking forward to working with our experienced and knowledgeable senior management team as we look to expand the business.”

Carlton Freegard, Managing Director of Permanent Bank International Ltd, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Chris to the business and he brings with him a wealth of experience in the financial sector and senior roles in compliance. Chris is a valuable addition to our senior management team, and his appointment is part of a strategic plan to strengthen the team as the business moves forward.”

Permanent Bank International was recently launched as a new brand and was formerly known as Irish Nationwide (IOM) Limited. The new bank was formed following the acquisition last year of Irish Nationwide by Irish Life and Permanent - which trades as Permanent TSB in Ireland. Permanent Bank International is based on the second floor of Britannia House, Athol Street, and employs 11 staff, many of whom have been with the bank for more than a decade and offer a wealth of experience to the management team and to its customers. The bank is a specialist international savings and deposit bank currently offering competitive Sterling and Euro accounts for up to five years.
